From IShell Wiki
Welcome to the iShell Wiki, the comprehensive iShell knowledge base. iShell is the easiest way to create secure, interactive, cross-platform CD-ROMs and DVD-ROMs, as well as kiosks, digital signage, and standalone Internet applications. For more information about iShell, and to download your free evaluation copy, check out the tribalmedia homepage.
The iShell Wiki has been compiled using information from the exhaustive iShell Reference Guide, as well as other sources, and is already an extremely convenient source for iShell information. As more users add information on how to use iShell effectively, the Wiki will continue to grow into a truly comprehensive resource, and an even greater asset to the iShell developer community.

We've set up some categories to get the wiki started. Please feel free to add your own categories and articles so the wiki can become a great community project:
- iShell Crash Course
- iShell Basics
- How do I ... ?
- Elements
- Events
- Commands
- Attributes
- Variables and Data
- Plugins
- To Do List

You will also see these listed in the "categories" box on the left. This box, along with the search bar, appears on every article in the wiki. The Categories and Search are the two fastest ways to find the article you're looking for.
More categories will be added as the wiki grows. If you'd like to see more links added to the navigation box, let us know what you'd like to see and we'll change it.
Writing Guidelines
Keep it Accessible
One of the great things about iShell is that it allows developers to put together very sophisticated work without any programming knowledge, but this is useless if all of the iShell documentation is written from a programmer's perspective. A new iShell user should be able to find the article for any iShell function and, after reading the first paragraph, understand how to implement that function in a project.
Of course, some articles will require outside knowledge (Key scripting, XML, etc.) When at all possible, please cite pertinent information in Wikipedia or other outside sources.
Be Thorough
Like any program of its scope, iShell has quirks, tricks, and workarounds that developers learn over the years. The wiki is the place to gather and share that knowledge.
Every article in the Wiki features a "Comments" section, where developers can provide firsthand information about how to effectively use a function in iShell. In many cases, developers know just as much about how to use iShell as tribalmedia does, so please don't be afraid to add your notes.
Wiki Editing Policy
In order to edit the iShell Wiki, you must first create a free account with tribalmedia. This is simply so that we can keep track of who is using the Wiki. When you are logged into tribalmedia, you will also be logged in to the Wiki.

Since the iShell Wiki is an important resource for professional developers, courtesy and professionalism are expected throughout. If you correct someone else's information in the Wiki, please provide an explanation in the change summary. Do not attempt to override the decisions of tribalmedia administrators.
The same rules apply in the iShell Wiki as on tribalmedia's discussion boards and mailing lists. Please do not add material that could be considered offensive, or that violates copyright law. Any attempts to use the iShell Wiki for personal harassment will result in permanent blacklisting from tribalmedia services, and be reported to authorities.
