tribalmedia acquires iShell
August 1st, 2006

We are proud to announce that iShell has found a great new home. As of August 1, tribalmedia is the new owner of iShell, and will handle all sales, support, and marketing for the software.

Matt Veenstra, who has served as Tribeworks' head engineer for the past five years, is tribalmedia's new president and head engineer. The same engineering, sales and support teams you've trusted over the years are continuing to serve the iShell developer community through tribalmedia. We're proud to be working in a new company devoted to the sales, support, and development of iShell, the program embraced by multimedia developers all over the world.

iShell 4.5 could not be released to the public until the new company was finalized. Now that tribalmedia is official, iShell 4.5 will be ready for its debut in September.

From now on, you will be able to login to your account at tribalmedia.com. We've retained the same user database to prevent any headaches in the transition. Your username and password have not changed, and your iShell license will not need to be updated.

There are a number of new features on the tribalmedia website; the most notable is the iShell Wiki. The wiki is the replacement for the old online reference guide. Like the reference guide, it's a quick reference for iShell functions, but users can now add their own content, allowing the wiki to grow into a storehouse of tips, tricks, and workarounds in iShell. We're excited about the wiki as a new way for developers in the iShell community to help each other out.

To use the wiki, you must first login to the tribalmedia site. Once you're logged in, click on "wiki" in the menu bar. For some more info on how to use the wiki, check out the help area.

Please be aware that some parts of the new website are still under construction. As we update our online store, sales will need to be handled via phone, fax, and email. To report any problems with the site, please drop a note to .

Today is a new beginning for iShell. The next few years will be an exciting time for iShell developers, with groundbreaking new innovations, and a comitted support team who knows you and understands your needs.
